I know you’re here, and I need your help. I’m going to switch to wireless charging. I have to plug and unplug my phone too many times when I’m delivering at night, so I’m ready to make the jump.
My current phone mount is one of those neat and cheap little magnetic pads that sticks in my vent. I love it. Get in the car, stick the phone to the dash. It’s awesome. No adhesives, no suction cups, no huge and ugly mounts.
Does a wireless charging mount exist with these characteristics? Can I get in my car, and with a single motion, slap my phone vertically to the dash and start it charging?
Many thanks. Some classic Group B Rallycross for your trouble.

I wouldn’t think so as wireless charging relies on magnetic fields to charge your phone so adding another magnet to hold the phone may cause issues with the charging process.

Which vent mount did you get? I’ve been looking at getting one, but I haven’t made a decision yet.

It was this one , or one just like it. I like that it’s so minimal, so when my phone isn’t in it, it doesn’t look like my car is sprouting extra appendages.

Even if the two magnet thing wasn’t an issue, most (all?) wireless charging systems are not “fast” charging and the phone can get warm especially if you are using it while charging. Some manufacturers have put the wireless charging pad in a cubby that gets a bit of diverted AC to make sure while others put the pad on the armrest or some other place in easy reach.
There are a couple grip mounted solutions that include the Qi wireless charging pads (most android phones that handle wireless charging support Qi as well as any manufacturer specific solutions). Unfortunately any of these mounting options are significantly bulkier than what you have currently.

Yeah, I’m counting on more bulk, to be sure. I just like the convenience of the magnet. But I think vent mounting would be good if more cooling is needed, right?

What phone do you have so I can check to see if any of the mounts I’ve looked at for my S6 will work for yours.

This is exactly what I’m looking for. But the Amazon reviews are pretty mixed...

I have an LG G4 with a semi-hefty Seidio case. Thanks!

Something like this might work then.
